ALL BANDS - No Rehearsal Monday, September 4—Labor Day

Thanks to all the students who participated this summer. Your attendance was amazing and your performances were awesome.  Thanks for a WONDERFUL SUMMER.

If Denver Public Schools cancels due to weather, CHBA will also cancel band at Grant Ave.  If schools are closed in your attendance area, due to weather or a week long vacation, that center will also be closed.

  CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS?

Make sure we have a current email address for you or you will not receive all the Colorado Honor Band information you need.  If you do not have access to email, please also inform us and we will put our communications in the mail.

ATTENDANCE POLICY

Students in Advanced Band, Symphonic Band and Symphony Winds must notify the CHBA office of their absence.  Do not tell the Sectional teacher—call the Office.  An unexcused absence (no phone call) will result in the student losing a chair.  If a student is on leave for an entire semester, and has notified the office, upon return, the student will be seated at the end of the part earned at auditions.

 JAZZ NEWS

Fall classes will begin on September 11.  Any student in the Advanced Band, Symphonic Band, or Symphony Winds may be in the 4:30 Jazz Band.  If you would like to audition for the 5:30 Jazz Ensemble, please contact Keith Ewer for times and music.  The audition date will be September 11.  If you were in the 5:30 Jazz Ensemble in the spring, you do not need to audition.  Rhythm Section players MUST audition to be in either group.

Band Tour– 2007

CHBA is Now Going to Hawaii!

Due to the increase in price, the trip to the British Isles has been changed to Hawaii. We chose Hawaii because it was the second choice among members. Students going into the 6th grade (by 2007) and play in Advanced Band, Symphonic Band, or Symphony Winds may sign-up.

There are only a certain number of spaces open and they are filling FAST!
