HARLEY BROWN is the Beginning and Intermediate Band Director. He earned
his Masters Degree in Music from Wichita State University and taught in Kansas
before coming to Denver. He has retired as Supervisor of Music for Adams
County School District One and as the Director of the Skyview H. S.
Band. Mr. Brown serves as a state officer in both the Colorado Music
Educators Association and the Colorado Bandmasters Association.
He has served as a guest conductor
for several league and district honor bands and often adjudicates
Colorado Band Masters Association and Colorado High School
Activities Association band contests.
Mr. Brown was inducted into the
Colorado Bandmasters Hall of Fame in 1992 and the Colorado Music
Educators Association Hall of Fame in 1993. Mr. Brown is also the
author of our Beginning and Intermediate Band method books, "Mastery
Learning". He has been a staff member of our organization
for 40 years (since
1968)teaching and directing students through their first two years
of instruction.
